U.S. News & World Report announced the 2024 Best Jobs. The rankings offer a look at the best jobs across 17 categories – including healthcare – to help job seekers at every level make the most informed career decisions for them. This year, physical therapist was ranked #7 in Best Health Care Jobs, down from #3 in 2023’s rankings, and #30 in 100 Best Jobs overall. The rankings take into account the most important aspects of a job, including growth potential, work-life balance, job safety, employment rate, and salary.

According to the survey, physical therapy as a profession provides high flexibility in the form of an alternative working schedule and work-life balance as well as an above average level of upward mobility in salary and career advancement. Unfortunately, the physical therapist is also subject to an above average level of stress compared to other jobs.
Occupational therapist was ranked #4 in Best Health Care Jobs for 2024 and #19 in 100 Best Jobs overall, while speech-language pathologist took the #3 spot in Best Health Care Jobs and #10 in this year’s ranking of 100 Best Jobs overall.
