PT Management Support Systems (PTM) offers a webinar, titled, “Keys to Effective Documentation for Outpatient Therapists,” for physical and occupational therapists.

The webinar will take place September 28 from 12 to 1 pm EST.

During the webinar, Kay Hashagen, PT, MBA, RAC-CT, will teach PTs and OTs how to improve their documentation and reduce potential denials due to inability to demonstrate medical necessity.

According to a media release from PTM, topics will include: Medicare and other payor requirements for documenting medical necessity, demonstrating and documenting skilled service, treatment plan requirements, physician supervision requirements, and writing short-term and long-term goals.

Additional topics will include: ICD-10 documentation, utilizing standardized tests to support medical necessity, progress note requirements and practical tips, treatment note requirements and practical tips, documenting for treatment above the Medicare cap, G code reporting and documentation, and red flags to avoid.
