The University of Southern California (USC) Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy and its partner, 2U Inc, officially launch the DPT@USC program with its inaugural class of 48 students.

“The launch of DPT@USC is an important milestone as we begin to transform and deliver a new standard for physical therapy education,” says Jim Gordon, associate dean and chair of the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, in a media release.

“We received strong interest in our hybrid modality from very well-qualified applicants. We are pleased to welcome this inaugural cohort of exceptional students.”

The students in the inaugural class hail from 12 states and are, on average, 27 years old.

DPT@USC is a hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy program that enables students to take classes both online and in person on campus, as well as participate in clinical experiences.

USC ranks as the No 1 graduate school in physical therapy, according to U.S. News and World Report, per the release.
