Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) have until May 2 to nominate individuals for a clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) workshop. According to an APTA news release, successful nominees will be invited to attend a workshop on July 23 to 25 at the APTA headquarters in Alexandra, Va that will address the details of CPG creation. This is the third year to association has offered this program.

The workshop will include a pre-workshop assignment, presentation of a CPG development methodology, and interactive discussion on how to apply the methodology to successfully develop CPGs for the physical therapy profession.

APTA sections interested in participating must submit nominations for a guideline development team leader as well as two to three team members who defined a key clinical topic or question that the section has identified as important to its membership. The APTA news release notes that the association may fund as many as three individuals from each guideline development team. Sections can nominate more than one team to attend the workshop.
