Professional Physical Therapy, a provider of physical, occupational, and hand therapy in the Northeastern United States, was recently named the recipient of the 2020 Leadership in Clinical Education Award from Columbia University.
Established in 2006, the Clinical Education Leadership Award recognizes a clinical affiliate for outstanding contributions in the education of Doctor of Physical Therapy students at Columbia University.
Amidst various challenges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Professional Physical Therapy has worked to pair Columbia’s students with jobs that meet their expertise throughout the Northeast region, it notes in a media release.
In their remarks, the awarding committee shared, “In addition to Professional’s commitment to education, and your history of pairing our geographically diverse student body throughout the regions that Professional serves, we want to acknowledge that during the chaos of this spring you were a vital and patient partner.”
Professional Physical Therapy will be recognized at the virtual commencement ceremonies for Columbia University’s Class of 2020 on Sunday, May 31, at 5 PM EST.
“Professional Physical Therapy would like to thank Columbia University for this prestigious award,” Rob Panariello, Professional’s Chief Clinical Officer, remarks in the release.
“It is always a pleasure to work with the faculty and students from this institution. Columbia has a physical therapy educational curriculum that is second to none. We look forward to continuing our partnership and program development,” he adds.
