Consensus Orthopedics introduces TracPatch, a wearable device that allows remote monitoring of a patient’s activity and recovery data following total joint surgery.

The device, which is placed on the lower leg just below the joint line, is designed to collect such data as range of motion, ambulation, exercise compliance, and wound site temperature trends on a continuous basis. The device then transmits the data to a secure cloud-based platform, where a healthcare provider can access it via the TracPatch mobile app or web dashboard and monitor the patient’s recovery in real time, according to a media release from the company.

Consensus Orthopedics officially launched the product during the American Academy of Orthopaedic surgeons Annual Meeting.
