An upcoming HydroTherapy-hosted webinar December 15 from 1 to 2 pm will discuss a case study of how hydrotherapy was used to help rehabilitate the Canadian National Volleyball Team’s captain prior to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Nick Held, MHk, CSCS, director of hydrotherapy at Fortius Sport & Health in Burnaby, BC, Canada, worked with Gavin Schmitt, captain of the Canadian National Volleyball Team, who had experienced stress fractures in his lower limbs.

One fracture was surgically addressed, while another required tibial nailing, according to a media release from HydroWorx.

During the webinar, Held will share the timeline of the injury, the exercises used, and the hydrotherapy protocols applied during each stage of Schmitt’s therapy, which successfully enabled Schmitt to participate in the Olympics.

The webinar is free, but registration is required.
