Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (OCtech), a college based in Orangeburg, SC, has announced a new Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. A news report from The Times and Democrat notes that the program was recently granted Candidacy Status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The program hopes to obtain full accreditation in the spring of 2015.

The Times and Democrat news report notes that 22 students are presently enrolled in the program. This group of students will graduate in May of 2015. Lynn Fralix, program coordinator of OCtech PTA program coordinator, says, “This is a much-needed program in our area. I am extremely excited to prepare these students to become skilled professionals that can benefit our community.”
