The drop in arriving stroke patients was the same across the board: at least 30% simply stopped showing up at Permanente Medical Group’s inpatient hospitals. Even fewer were showing up in some locations. The drop occurred in parallel with the explosion of COVID-19 cases. It was no coincidence.
