New York City-based SPEAR Physical Therapy announces its hiring of Jon Brilliant as its first chief financial officer.

“Jon joins us at an exciting inflection point,” says Dan Rootenberg, CEO and co-founder of SPEAR Physical Therapy, recently named the National Practice of the Year by the American Physical Therapy Association’s Private Practice Section, in a media release.

“He brings to SPEAR a strategic, analytical skill-set and will be instrumental as we navigate future growth opportunities.”

Brilliant shares that his goals are to “leverage my extensive experience in using technology to improve the healthcare experience for our patients, as well as develop the best strategy that will enable us to continue to fuel our growth.”

Prior to joining SPEAR, Brilliant spent 8 years at WellDoc. He then was co-founder, CFO, and chief strategy officer at Bigfoot Biomedical, a company for those living with type 1 diabetes. He was also a senior advisor to Merck’s Global Health Innovation Fund and a venture capitalist with his own fund.
