North Coast Medical Inc, a Calif-based manufacturer and supplier of rehabilitation medical products, has announced the acquisition of ActivaTek Inc. ActivaTek, headquartered in Salt Lake City, is a privately held manufacturer of transdermal iontophoretic devices founded in 2006. According to a North Coast Medical news release, ActivaTek strives to bring innovation and advanced technologies to the iontophoresis market with products such as the ActivaPatch and the ActivaDose II.

The North Coast Medical news release notes that ActivaTek’s combination of wired and wireless iontophoresis technology is designed to offer patients, physicians, and physical therapists an exceptional level of control of iontophoresis drug delivery.

Mark E. Biehl, CEO of North Coast Medical, states, “This acquisition enables us to enhance the well-being of a greater number of rehabilitation patients and represents an exciting new source of growth for our business as well as our global distribution partners in the rehabilitation medical sector.”
