A new webinar presented by Ted Yanchuleff, PT, ATC, manager of outpatient rehab services for the Pinnacle Health System, will discuss the changing healthcare environment and the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on aquatic therapy. According to a HydroWorx news release, “The Changing Healthcare Environment: Is There a Role for Aquatic Therapy?” webinar will attempt to address some of the possible implications on an aquatic therapy program associated with the integration of the ACA into the US healthcare system.

The HydroWorx news release notes that the Act contains various reforms that when implemented, will significantly impact and change the risk/reward concepts for healthcare organizations, including physical therapy and rehabilitation departments, throughout the US. The online course will highlight concepts of an integrated care delivery network and will include a discussion on the development of Accountable Care Organizations.

In addition, the webinar will explore what role aquatic therapy can play in the changing healthcare environment as well as discuss the possible benefits that aquatic therapy may offer Accountable Care Organizations, including decreased readmissions, improved patient outcomes, increased compliance, and the ability to progress patients through the entire spectrum of care.

The webinar will be March 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., EST. To register for the informational webinar and for additional course information, visit http://ww2.hydroworx.com/webinar-aco.
