Deirdre “Dee” Daley, PT, DPT, MSHPE, Director of Clinical Practice at WorkWell Prevention & Care, was recently installed on the Board of Directors for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

As a board member, Daley will focus on strengthening the physical therapy profession to improve movement and health of society.

“My work in the PT community inspires me every day,” she says, in a media release from WorkWell. “Working on the Board of Directors offers the opportunity to take that inspiration to new places to promote health and transform lives.”

As Director of Clinical Practice, Daley leads the development of clinical programs and evidence-based occupational health solutions to help PTs and employers reduce and treat workplace injuries.

Prior to joining WorkWell, she worked in a variety of private and large corporate outpatient practices, consulted with employer clients, and provided PT services as a contractor in a military hospital system.

“We are extremely proud of Dee and know she will serve members of APTA with a strong combination of experience, integrity and devotion,” says WorkWell Chief Executive Officer Kevin Schmidt, in the release.

Daley’s roles in the APTA have included education chair, vice president, and president. She has coauthored several publications on topics such as job analysis and the role of the physical therapist in occupational health, and also serves as a member of the Work Rehab Clinical Practice Guideline Writing Group.

She has a BS and DPT in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac and UNC-Chapel Hill and a MS in Health Professions Education from NC State University.
