Physical therapy group Confluent Health announces a multi-year, multi-school relationship with Learfield IMG College spanning seven states across the country. It also announces a new partnership with Xcel Sports Medicine, a privately owned physical therapy practice with three clinic locations across greater Dayton, Ohio.

Confluent Health currently has individual sponsorship agreements with Learfield IMG College at two institutions where it is the athletics multimedia rightsholder – University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and University of Evansville (Indiana). The expanded Learfield IMG College relationship now in effect allows Confluent Health and its partner companies the opportunity to increase brand exposure among loyal, passionate college fans within five additional states: Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Texas.

Multi-School Relationship Agreement Term

Throughout the agreement term, Confluent Health will be a partner of University of North Carolina and Evansville, as well as Appalachian State, Florida State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Providence College, University of Texas-San Antonio, TCU, Texas State and Tulsa.

Notably, while the partner benefits and details vary by school and sport, Confluent Health and its partner companies will receive significant digital visibility and be able to utilize its key message of “Keeping Fans in the Game.”

“We made the decision to further partner with Learfield IMG College by identifying other colleges and universities that aligned with our growing private physical therapy practice footprint across the US. We feel that connecting with college sports fans is a perfect match for our approach to evidence-based treatment, and Learfield IMG College is the perfect partner to share that message with 13 schools over the next several years.”

— Larry Benz, PT, DPT, OCS, MBA, MAPP, CEO and President of Confluent Health

“It’s a privilege to work with Larry and his team as they understand the immense value associated with brand alignment in college sports. College sports fans are fans 365 days a year, and if there’s anything the pandemic has shown us, it’s that we are still more than capable of reaching these fans and providing them with compelling content, no matter how unique the season. Through this content, and the help of our 13 incredible schools and their fanbases, we have built an impactful strategy that will show Confluent Health the results they are looking forward to see.”

New Partnership with Xcel Sports Medicine

“At Xcel Sports Medicine our team is dedicated to our patients and delivering personalized care. Our patients are our neighbors, and we aim to provide best-in-class care through streamlining clinic capabilities, keeping our PTs at the forefront of our field through educational opportunities, and always exceeding expectations. Maintaining the highest standard of care was important when forging this partnership with Confluent Health, and we are excited to join the family.”

— Owner and Physical Therapist, Greg Mackenzie, PT

This partnership allows Xcel to maintain its existing brand while gaining access to Confluent Health’s shared management services. These services include accounting and finance, marketing and branding, and talent acquisition for further expansion. Through Confluent Health, Xcel therapists will also have greater access to continuing education programs and staff development opportunities such as Evidence In Motion, a nationally recognized physical therapy program.

“Greg has practiced physical therapy in over 15 countries, beginning in his small South African hometown and spanning into New Zealand, Japan and Dubai just to name a few. His travels in combination with his expertise in orthopedic, manual and sports physical therapy brings a breath of fresh air to both the PT community and Confluent Health family. We’re thrilled to bring his team’s global approach to patient care to the Confluent family.”
