Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute (AOSMI) announces the launch of an Advanced Physical Therapy program that is designed for athletes who are fully healthy or who have recently completed rehabilitation for an orthopedic injury.

“Athletes typically don’t come to us for physical therapy unless they’re experiencing some type of pain or have been injured,” explains AOSMI physical therapy director Peter Sanzio, in a media release. “What sports players may not realize is that, even with optimal health, programs like this one can address subtle deficiencies in movement patterns that are preventing them from functioning at their maximum capacity. This program is designed to correct those deficiencies and help athletes play and feel their absolute best.”

The Advanced Physical Therapy program offered at AOSMI features personalized exercise regimens created for each athlete that are designed to overcome deficiencies and bring the body to optimal functioning. Prior to the regimen creation, the athlete undergoes extensive screening and assessment so that trainers can gain a clear understanding of the athlete’s personal movement patterns.

The program aims to not only improve performance, but to help prevent the likelihood of future injury, and in the case of injury, to increase the chances of a full and speedy recovery.
