A new version of the Silver AXIS Roller has been added to the extensive line of foam rollers from Minneapolis-based OPTP.
The redesigned Silver AXIS Roller has a new-to-market moderate density that is firm enough for myofascial release to aid in workout recovery, yet soft enough to comfortably perform exercises for improved balance, stability, flexibility, and function.
Those familiar with the original Silver AXIS will discover a slightly softer density, the company notes in a media release.
Made from heat-molded foam beads, the Silver AXIS was designed to handle heavy use. It is ideal for those who are new to foam rolling, for recovering patients and experienced athletes, as well as for instructors teaching Pilates and fitness classes, for clinics, or at-home use.
The Silver AXIS is available in a variety of sizes and can be used for self-massage, myofascial release, stretching, Pilates, and core exercises. The traditional 36- x 6-inch diameter size is perfect for rolling out larger areas such as hamstrings, quads and back. The smaller sizes allow for more targeted work on hard-to-reach areas like IT bands, calves and arms. Half-round versions are ideal for use in Pilates, yoga and for general workouts, according to the company.
