The Corporate Whistleblower Center urges physical therapists, healthcare managers, or medical doctors to call about rewards if they have proof a healthcare company may be gouging Medicare, Medicaid, or TRICARE with unauthorized high-volume physical therapy or therapy not supervised by a physician.

“We believe one of the easiest ways to rip off Medicare is with unsupervised or unauthorized physical therapy on the part of a healthcare company, and we are confident there are bad actors in every state involved in high volume overbilling of Medicare using PT as the excuse. Recently a whistleblower received $225,000 for this exact type of information,” according to the Corporate Whistleblower Center, in a media release.

Major whistleblowers are advised not to go to the government first, per the release.

“Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It’s a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower’s information could destroy any prospect for a reward.”

In addition, it advises, “Do not try to force a company or individual to come clean about overbilling Medicare, Tricare, or Medicaid. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it’s sufficient, we will help find the right law firms to assist in advancing your information.”
