Set to open in early 2018, the Athletes Village at the University of Minnesota is built to include space for its Golden Gopher athletes to not only train, but to receive rehabilitation, without leaving campus.

The University is investing in a HydroWorx 2000 series pool to be included within the Athletes Village for physical and athletic therapy. Although the pool will be primarily used by the Golden Gophers’ football program, it will be available for physical and athletic therapy, notes a media release from HydroWorx.

“I plan on using it [the HydroWorx 2000] when I have rehab projects,” says Jeff Winslow, men’s ice hockey associate athletic trainer, in the release. “The fact that you can adjust the weight load, combined with the buoyancy, is going to provide great middle ground when trying to help someone back from an injury or extremity surgery.”

The HydroWorx 2000 series pool features an underwater treadmill floor, resistance jets, support bars, and massage capabilities.
