The recently established Sports Neurology Clinic at IBJI, part of the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI), aims to address neurological care among athletes.

“The Sports Neurology Clinic at IBJI addresses the entire spectrum of neurological care in athletes,” states Anthony Savino, MD, a board-certified neurologist fellowship-trained in sports neurology at The Sports Neurology Clinic at the CORE Institute, who will lead the new clinic, per a media release from Illinois Bone & Joint Institute.

“In addition to providing advanced treatment for concussion and other neurological conditions faced by athletes, we offer neurological pre-participation evaluations, long-term brain health initiatives, and educational resources for the community,” Savino adds. “IBJI’s dynamic clinical resources and comprehensive rehabilitative services are the perfect complement to my focus on the athlete’s brain health before, during and after sports participation.”

“This partnership establishes the greater Chicago area’s most comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to the complex issues related to head injuries among amateur and professional athletes in the pediatric and adult populations,” says IBJI Chief Operating Officer Andre Blom, in the release.
