Orthopedic urgent care franchise OrthoNOW has upgraded its mobile app to integrate with the Uber ridesharing service. Now, patients can request a ride to their nearest OrthoNOW Center directly within the app.
The upgraded OrthoNOW app features On My Way NOW, which allows patients to notify an OrthoNOW Center that they are en route, the reason they are visiting the center, and what time they expect to arrive. In addition, the app locates the nearest OrthoNOW Center, provides contact information to the Center, can connect to the patient’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, and supplies information about conditions treated and a selection of frequently asked questions, per a media release rom OrthoNOW.
Additional features include the ability for patients to send a custom injury alert at a Center with photos of their injury in advance of their arrival, as well as the ability for users to create multiple patient profiles.
“You’ve got to start with the customer experience and work back toward the technology, not the other way around,” says OrthoNOW co-founder and chief medical officer Dr Alejandro Badia, quoting Steve Jobs, in the release.
“We understand that injuries don’t happen by appointment and our commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience begins before patients cross our threshold. We are proud to be launching this innovative new mobile app designed with the patient in mind,” he adds.
“We are excited that OrthoNOW is utilizing Uber’s open API for such an innovative integration,” states Uber South Florida general manager Kasra Moshkani, per the release.
The free app is available in the app store for iPhone users.
